Bobby is a Busker
Bobby busks in the River market area of downtown Little Rock. His favorite thing is to make up lyrics about people who pass by. He says that he makes the most when he does so. Bobby is the second subject in my series: The not so famous.

Dennis and his dog
While I was photographing an old iron bridge that crosses the Fourche La Fave Dennis and his dog pulled up. We got to talking about the old bridges that we knew about and he told me a story. He used to drive a concrete truck. While he was out on a delivery one day he crossed an old iron bridge, twice. He told me that the bridge had a 10 ton limit. I asked " How much does a loaded concrete truck weigh?"He laughed, that way you laugh when you confess some long past transgression, " Well, about 40 -50 ton." After a few seconds of silence he continued, " I put her in granny gear, opened the door and let her crawl slowly across. Listening to the iron groan and every board clap up and down under the weight." " Shit," He said, " I don't even know if the river was 30 feet deep or 2, but I was ready to jump if the bridge started to give."He recently had heart surgery and just a couple of weeks ago he ran himself over with his four wheeler. " When I move it around I just stand next to it and give it a little gas," he said. " I had just put one of those extensions on the throttle, and new mud tires with real good fucking tread." He continued," Well the damn throttle stuck and the mud tire grabbed my foot, knocked me down and ran up my leg." He pointed at his leg and said," see those scabs? I just about pulled those fucking tires off and burned the mother fuckers, but they cost too much." © Rex Lisman

Almost all the time when I shoot portraits outside I use strobes. So much so that I had almost forgotten how to use available light. So in this portrait session and in future sessions I am limiting myself to using available light. This portrait was shot during the harsh light of the afternoon. I had Sarah pose in the shade of a large tree and didn't worry so much about the light in the background. By the way it was 108 degrees or so on this day.
